Student Discipleship

Journey Class Attendance and Participation Policy

(Post Encounter Weekend)

Attendance

• There will be five (5) classes following the Encounter Weekend.
• Student must attend four (4) of the five (5) classes to successfully complete this class.

Participation

• Must have a personal Cultivate book.
• Weekly class attendance
• Reading and answer assignments should be completed weekly.
• Teachers may check this on a random basis.
• We strongly encourage students to connect and join a weekly Small Group

Absences

• Excusable absences are a death in the family, immediate/unplanned family crisis, unplanned work commitments and military service.
• Makeup classes for a missed class. The Journey Class makeup class can be a one-one session with teacher or it can be made up by writing a short essay related to the missed class and answering all the lesson questions
• Unexcused absences more than one (1) and the student will need to re-enroll to participate in the next Journey Class. A determination will be made between the teacher, Growth Track Elder and Pastor if there is a need to attend the Encounter Weekend again or re-connect to the class sessions only.

Successful completion of the Journey Class:

• Student will be encouraged to serve and help in ministries at Liberty Church under the leadership of a P12 graduate.
• Student can continue Growth track by enrolling in the follow-on Cultivate Class 1 and 2.

Cultivate 1 & 2

Prerequisite: To participate in the Cultivate Growth Track Discipleship Classes the student must successfully complete the Encounter Weekend and Journey Class.  No exceptions to this policy.

Training, Attendance & Absences and Participation Policy:

• Training
  • Cultivate 1 (C1) – Eight (8) weeks
  • Cultivate 2 (C2) – Ten (10) weeks
  • Typically, these classes should be completed serially, C1 and then C2.
  • Lessons will be presented weekly.  The teacher will focus on lesson and will be highlighted with main points and discussion questions.
  • Lessons are taught in random order so a lesson schedule will be provided.
  • A training break may be taken.  For example, you successfully complete C1 and for some reason not able to attend C2.  If you have successfully completed C1 you may enroll in the next C2 class offered.

• Attendance & Absences
  • Classes will be held on a weekly basis – Sunday mornings.
  • Weekly attendance is expected to successfully complete and move to next Cultivate Class.  Minimum attendance required to complete each section:
    • C1:  Attend 6 of 8
    • C2:  Attend 7 of 10
  • Excusable absences are a death in the family, immediate/unplanned family crisis, unplanned work commitments and military service.
  • Excused absences exceeding the allowable number will require a makeup class.
  • Ministry team serving commitments are encouraged and allowable; however, it will count as an unexcused absence.  The 70% attendance mark must still be met.  It will be student’s responsibility to inform the teacher dates that you will be serving.
  • Makeup class can be one-one session with teacher, if the teacher agrees, or it can be made up by writing a short essay related to the missed class an answering any questions the teacher may assign.

• Participation
  • Must have book.
  • Reading assignments must be completed.
  • Weekly class attendance
  • We strongly encourage students to actively participate in class discussion, asking questions and offering your insight into a biblical discussion.
  • We strongly encourage students to actively and regularly participate in a weekly Small Group

• Graduation - successful completion of the Growth Track Discipleship Track:
  • Successfully complete Connection Track Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 & Step 4, Journey & Encounter, Cultivate 1 and Cultivate 2.
  • Graduated student will have opportunity, as opportunity and need arises, to lead ministries at Liberty Church under the leadership of our 7 Pillars, Elders and Senior Pastor.

The Growth Track is a Liberty Church Discipleship Ministry designed to raise people up into their God-given potential and empower Christians to become spiritual leaders (soul winning, disciple making, destroying the works of the devil) in their families, on their jobs and in the Church. The ministry is divided into four courses that include: The Journey to Freedom, Encounter Weekend. Cultivate 1 and Cultivate 2.
